I have been busy ( I seem to say that a lot) with some new and some old exchanges.

I am a member of team Naughty on Startxchange and I am trying out clicking crazy(which I like) and must have hits which is OK, but not as fun as the other two. Of course I am still clicking away on Trafficswarm which is the one I have been on the longest(because it works).

Hi folks.

I have been so busy on the running on empty boards or ROE for short to get much writing done here. I am on ROE2, ROE3, ROEca and OWL ( old ways living) as well as others dedicated to alternative energy sources. Here is an update of what has been going on.
1) My house is nearly done. All they have left to do is put in the new furnace. Then the work of re-painting and getting rid of stuff and adding stuff begins. I had planned on doing something with my garage, but that did not happen.
2) My girlfriend's patio is now done along painting the front porch, fixing the front room and painting the bedroom door.
3) The CKOAP (Chatham-Kent Oil Age Planning) group is meeting on a regular basis and we just finished a SWOT of Chatham.
4) I have been buying supplies and so has my girlfriend. We have about 6 months worth of food. I have more months of liguid vitamins( I am aiming at having a year stocked up).
5) My Portal site is up and running. One of the gateway pages is http://maximumheavytraffic.com/mibmy137 . I am focussing on that site in my traffic exchanges that I am still using. The best one still is one of the older ones at http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?120579
6) 2 of my books are for sale online at http://www.mjk-private-income.com . Both are Peak Oil related, One directly and the other is a "How to" book on making Candles,Firestarters and Hobostove fuel cells.

I am putting this on all my blogs at once since this information is so important. Look at the Archives for the rest of the information I was referring to.

Why be prepared?

My girlfriend is getting fed up with me talking

about ways in which our society as we know it

could (rapidly) change. In my last post I talked

about E.W.E.'s (Extreme Weather Events). In past

posts on this and my other blogs (myhemp,

survival-list, moneyhowtogetsome, moneythebook,

xchangesnumber1 - all blogspot.com like this

one)I have talked about how peak oil is going to

drive gas prices too far up and more wars will be

faught over this resource. One thing I have not

addressed to well(so far) is the next pandemic. At

first people think-Avian Flu and they could possibly

be correct. It does not have to be Avian Flu, it

could be another type of flu. History has shown that

the entire regions where decimated by waves of

flu and plague with a certain regular cycle to them.

According to those cycles we should have had a

bad one last year or maybe this year. Now that

world-wide travel is easier to do, the spread will

be world-wide. Someone is going to hop a plane

to get out of a region that is struck by it, to get

away and in the meantime infects half the

passengers and crew. The crew and the other

passengers do not know they have it till they report

to work that they are ill in a few days. All those

people have spread to other points of the country

spreading the illness as they go. Since some

percentage of the population will be immune, they

may be carriers. If the United States or Canada

decided to close their border and patrol it A) the

cost would be huge, B) they would still not be able

to keep everyone out. We are simply too wide

open. This region of Ontario where I live has alot

of farms that import hired hands to pick crops and

such. One of the migrant workers may bring it in.

They are a multitude of ways for a flu bug to

spread.

So what do you do? Prepare as best you can!.

The Mormans have a standing policy of having a

year or more supply of everything they need. If they

shut themselves in for the few months to 18

months a bad pandemic could last, they would be

one group who would survive. The rest of us will be

lucky if we have more than a week's worth of food

and maybe a couple of bottles of water. EEEENK

( insert sound of buzzer), Guess what- you are out

of the game. In all the research I did for my book,

everyone said you need a gallon( 4 litres) of water

a day to drink, cook food, wash etc. That is per

person and more if you have babies or pregnent

mothers to look after. If you stayed indoors for 3

months or so, say 100 days that equals 100

gallons per person or 400 litres if I filled up every

jug and the tub and sink, I think I could just barely

make it.I would still need 3 months supply of meds,

vitimins and food. I have a 3 month supply of

vitamins and about that much or more in food, but

my prescription meds I can only get a month at a

time. Ok lets say you have 100 days worth of

water, food and what not, what are you going to do

with yourself for 3 months indoors? I will not be

anywhere close to my girlfriend since she will be a

frontline worker, if and when it breaks ( she works

for public health). I have a large library of tapes

and dvds I could go through. Lots of music

besides. I have music instruments to play, a

sewing machine to work on, silver wire and hemp

twine to make jewelry with, about 50 pounds of

bee's wax to make candles with and lots of books

and magazines as well as the internet and TV to

watch. I can do Tai Chi exersises to keep fit.

Great. Now what happens if the electricity or gas

shuts off because too many people running them

get too sick to work? Right now I have a couple of

small solar panels that could charge a battery long

enough to charge my laptop. I may still be able to

get online even if the power goes off, but it will not

be for long periods. I have enough propane to last

a few days if I used the grill in the garage to cook

my meals and heat water for coffee and tea. I

would use up any fuel for my camp stove, but I

could not be able to heat my house. It would mean

a cold winter covered in blankets and heavy

clothes. It would mean not being able to wash my

clothes. It would mean no shaving, who cares I am

not going outside anyway. It would mean I would

survive but just barely. I would have to have

enough cash in the house to pay for my meds and

phone them up to deliver them, putting the money

in my mailbox and getting them to put the package

in the mailbox also. I would have to get it with

gloves on and a face mask and spray the bag with

a bleach/water solution as well as the actual

bottles. Garbage would have to be stored

somehow. It is do-able for 3 months, but right now

it is not do-able for any longer time period.

Can you see why my girlfriend is calling me Mr.

Joyfull and Mr. Happy? This is enough to depress

almost anyone. Don't shoot the messenger,

instead plow that emotion into saving your own

butt. The Government at all levels will be too

overwhelmed all at once to help much. You must

help yourself. I hope you pass this on to a friend or

even an enemy ( if they work for public works or

the gas company) the more you do now , the

better off you will be later. Buy my book and read

Back to Basics

After talking to alot of people about their experience with the autosurfs that went under like 4daily and 12dailypro They are still looking for something as easy as that was without the risk of loss. Sorry to say this but risk is part of the game. I see some autosurfs are still up and running. I will not try them for another 2 months or so, just to see if they fold or not. Then I MAY try again. In the meantime I am sticking with what works. Manual surfs like Trafficswarm are still bringing good traffic to my sites like wwwMJK-private-income.com where I have two of my books currently for sale. One is a "How To" booklet on making bee's wax candles firestarters and hobostove fuelcells. The other is called "What Money Can't Buy" and it is about being prepared for the big changes coming our way due to things like peak oil. I highly recommend this book because I wrote it but also because I know how much research and time I put into it.

That is the basic way most people are making money on the internet besides directly selling stuff on ebay. Make a website that has a product you can order instantly and then promote that site, or create a pre-selling site that talks about the product you have for sale and promote the pre-selling site that links to the order taking site. As long as everything is linked properly and your payment proccessor is set up right, you are bound to make some money. You can take that pre-selling site one step further by setting up an affiliate program on it and getting others to promote and sell your products.

That's it then-create or find a product, create an order page and maybe create a pre-selling page with or with out affiliates. I use blogs like this one as a pre-selling page. It works.

I have 2 sites that I like to call multi-site hosts. I would like to share them with you. The first is Profit Rally at http://www.profitrally.com/members/michaelkaer/oneatatime.html and the other is Linkscout at http://michaelkaer.linkscout.com. You can make money with these in several ways, the most obvious being directing traffic to your paying sites. I am signed up with Empowerism http://www.empowerism.com/e/93084 and SFI http://www.gomoreinfo.com/sim/8402264. There is a space where you can input your codes so you can sign up people right from the Profitrally site. SFI has been paying me a commission for quite some time and the money I have in Empowerism has increased, while getting lots of good traffic from that system.
Linkscout is a wonderful site as well, since all of this is set up for you for free. You do have to input all your information( you can't expect them to do EVERYTHING) but once it is in there, you only have to promote those two sites and you have all your sites in them. That cuts down on the costs of advertising(time or money or both)freeing you up to create still more money making sites.

What's up with Studiotraffic? I was about to logon as usual I got a message saying the account was unavailable. This is starting test my faith in all Autosurf programs. No notice-here one day, gone the next? It does not make sense that someone would build up a site that seems to be running and then have it close without any notice. I prefer to believe something has happened to the server that was hosting it. If anyone knows, leave a comment. If you are pissed off because all these Auto surf programs are dead, leave a comment. Just a quick update on Studiotraffic.com. It is still functioning. My small amount I started off with is still multiplying. I set things up so I could not touch it for 9 months. The free $10 plus the $10 I put in are around $40.00. That is not a huge amount but it is proving the system is working. The proof will be when I go to get my money from them. That is a few months off. I now have 6 blogs on the go so some of them do not see as much action as others, but I try to get around to all of them a few times a month.

With the death of 4 daily and 12dailypro, what other autosurfs are there online? One that is still alive and kicking is studiotraffic. You can join up here http://www.studiotraffic.com/index.php?refid=1230826&username=michaelkaer .Just copy and paste if the link is not active. They pay out 1% a day, which is not alot , but better than putting your money in the bank. I hope this site will remain stable. It should, since you have to view at l00 sites a day to earn that 1%. They also charg a hefty fee for their premium ads, so that is another indicator that they may stick around.

4daily is dead. Other auto surfs out there are biting the dust quickly. That is a shame. I am not sure if they where illegal ponzi schemes or not. They may have been a ligitimate business model. All I know is I paid a small amount of money to test them and they were working till stormpay stepped in. I was not too concerned with the money aspect, I was more concerned with the steady stream of traffic I could count on every day. I have been forced to go back to my old way or getting traffic using manual surfs.Something new is going to happen. I do not know what it is going to be, but something will fill that void, something that is legal( I hope).

I have something new that just may fill that void. I have seen these pixel sites poping up everywhere so I decided to buy one to test it out

There is another form of exchange that is much more passive, but gives good results. As far as I know InstantBuzz were the first to come up with this idea of having ads in a task bar. Every time you change your page, while surfing, the ads change. Since this blog is not just about exchanges and more about traffic in general I feel this is still on topic. What the heck, I run the blog, I can do what I want! ;)

It is now 10 days into 2006 and I can say, so far, Studio Traffic, 4Daily and 12dailypro all seem to paying out. I am only using small amounts to test them. 12daily pro has paid out but it took a few days to get the money. With the other two I have a longer range plan.

This next payout period for 4daily I will be getting my money back out of the system and just re-investing the rest. If it falls apart I will not be out any of my own money. As a side bonus, I do get a nice regular amount of traffic to my other sites that does not cost me any money. The discipline it takes to surf that much every day is not so hard. It takes about an hour of my time depending on the speed of the dial up or highspeed services I use. I use dial-up at my girlfriend's house on the weekends and surf highspeed while I am home during the week.

Studio traffic is the hardest one to do in one sense, since you have to surf 100 pages instead of 80 (40 for the money) in the case of 4daily or 30 (12 for the money) with 12dailypro. I have it set to just automatically re-invest everything for 9 months. That will take some doing and if it is still up and running 8 months from now, I should have nice bit of change built up. I can choose to re-invest at that time or use it for other programs I want to try. I think the secret is to not get too greedy, not put all your eggs in one basket and not put too much money on the line. If one goes under and the others keep going, you will not be too baddly off. I feel safest using 12dailypro since it's turn around time is short and the time to surf is also short. If I had to recommend just one, that would be it.

The trick with getting this type of linking traffic is to make sure that the blog or site you are promoting has something close in common with this blog. Since all sites and blogs need traffic, that would be a natural start, but it could also relate to some of the other businesses I Promote, Talents I teach or crafts I manufacture. Alternatives

There are other ways of getting traffic to your site. One I am using is 20 Million Hits. This is what I call a viral type traffic exchange. You go and sign up, view 8 ads and then promote your site. When people sign up under you, when they see the 8 qualifying ads, yours will be at the top. At the next level down they get their ad shown first, but yours comes second, so at the second level you get 64 views and so on and so forth down several levels.
There are other "viral" type exchanges, just search for it on Trafficswarm or some of the other exchanges. To see several live links to various exchanges just go to the first blog entry and click on them. Let me know what you think.

Auto-surfs

The other main flavour of Traffic exchange is an auto-surf exchange. What I mean by an auto-surf is a series of websites are shown to the surfer without having to interact with the program to load the next page in the set.

Pros. - The lazy way of getting traffic credits. Your fingers, arms and wrists are not as sore. You look at the ads in a more relaxed manner thus you may be more prone to click on a site for information that you like, before the robot changes the page. Ads usually cost less on an auto-surf.

Cons.- The traffic credits are not worth nearly as much as the manual credits because there is no way of knowing if your site is even seen by a person, or they just turned on their machine and walked away. An auto-surf can interfer with other things you are doing if you have multiple browsers or tabs open (eg. reading emails and surfing at the same time). The exchanges tend to be more prone to bugs and more easliy hacked. Some auto-surf exchanges are a waste of your time and money.

One of the things some auto-surf exchanges do is add bonus credits or money for the surfers to get in the time period certain sites are run, so if you want the bonuses, you have to babysit the exchanges anyway.

I use both types and I have done so consistantly for a long time, so I have a huge amount of traffic going to all my websites.

Pros and Cons of Manual Surf Exchanges

A manual surf exchange is defined as an exchange where the surfer must manually "turn the page" to the next site to be viewed. That is the short form. The way the surfer does this is by clicking on a symbol or a number, usually after a timer has counted down the minimum time the site is viewed to be counted as a credit. The length of time varies with the exchange and sometimes site to site.

The Pros- a real person must be doing the clicking, so the exchange manager can justify a higher cost to the advertisers, but the quality is high so they are happy with it. Real people = real sales and/or real people signing up.

The Cons- For the surfer it means alot of repetitive movement that can end up in pain or even damage if they go at it for long periods of time without a break. The higher cost to advertise may make others look to other forms of getting traffic.

Traffic is the lifeblood of Internet business.

I an going to cut to the chase and just list some of the ones I am on.

Trafficswarm,Startxchange and TS25 are strictly manual surf exchanges.
4Daily is a strictly Auto surf exchange.
Hitrosoft can be both.
Link Scout and Profit Rally are examples of a site that promote multiple sites.
Empowerism is not an exchange, but it is another way of getting traffic in the form of leads.
What is all this traffic used for? The credits you earn by looking at other people's advertising are used to send people to your sites. When they get to your site your main goal is to get their email address, or send you an email or buy a product or service from you. The ultimate goal is to make sales.
